This level focuses on helping participants with everyday activities and immediate needs, ensuring they can live as independently as possible. Core Supports include assistance with:

  • Daily Activities: Personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.

  • Transport: Funding to access work, education, or community events.

  • Social and Community Participation: Support to engage in recreational and social activities.

  • Consumables: Essential items like continence products or equipment needed for daily living.

Capacity Building Supports

These supports are designed to build skills and independence over time, helping participants achieve their longer-term goals. Examples include:

  • Support Coordination: Connecting participants with services and managing their NDIS plans.

  • Life Skills Development: Training for budgeting, cooking, and daily living.

  • Employment Assistance: Support to find and maintain a job.

Capital Supports

Capital support focuses on funding for larger, long-term investments that enhance participants' quality of life and independence. This includes:

  • Assistive Technology: Equipment like wheelchairs, communication devices, or mobility aids.

  • Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA): Housing designed for participants with high support needs.

These levels allow the NDIS to provide comprehensive and individualized support, addressing both immediate and future needs.
